Canada: Ottawa

We spent 1 overnight trip in Ottawa the day before Canada Day. The reason we didn’t stay for Canada Day was because we decided last-minute to drive to Ottawa from Toronto and there were almost no available (and affordable) airbnbs or hotels for Canada Day.

Needless to say, we found an airbnb in downtown Ottawa and it turned out to be terrible – smelled bad, washrooms didn’t seem clean, and the windows were broken in one of the rooms. Unfortunately for my parents, this was their first airbnb experience and they definitely were not impressed.

We had brunch at a hipster place called Wilf & Ada’s. There was a 1 hour wait, which I wasn’t so sure was worth it but it was a yummy brunch.

We spent the day walking around the government buildings. They were doing stage tests for the big night tomorrow at parliament hill. I got to see Justin Trudeau on stage!

The closest me or that lady will get to Justin.

It was kind of annoying to walk around because you had to go through a full security check in every area. I know they want the event to run smoothly and for everyone to be safe.

Outside of Parliament Hill.

Aside from Parliament Hill area, Ottawa was a total ghost town. We had ramen at Sansotei Ramen, went back to our dirty airbnb and left early the next morning.

Sincerely,ย Loewe
