Alaska cruise

My 8 day Alaska cruise with Holland America is over and you can watch my montage video on some highlights and views of Alaska.

It wasn’t thrilling but it was a super relaxing trip and I think my family really enjoyed it, which is the most important part.

The coolest part of this trip for me was to visit a place I would have never have gone to otherwise. Alaska is beautiful in its own way and even if you hate the cold, you’d find appreciation in Glacier Bay and what a better time than to see it now before the glaciers recede even more into the ocean.

For some of you, you may also enjoy the opportunity to disconnect from the rest of the world as there is simply no wifi during sea days. I did not at the time, but looking back at it now I didn’t die so maybe there was some merit in that.

Thanks to my auntie, we got to live in balcony cabins (if it was just my family we would definitely be in the bottom bunkers) and experience a little bit of luxury with some spa experiences. A super cute aspect of this trip was that my Hong Kong family just loved the nature and the fresh air in Alaska.

Now that my Hong Kong family has returned to Hong Kong, I really do see this trip as a valuable memory for all of us. It’s difficult to go on action-packed vacations when my relatives are older and have different body injuries or complications. The cruise may have been a bit on the boring side for my sister and I, but we still had fun and found things to do and I would much rather accommodate to the travel style of my family than have them accommodate to mine.

Hopefully we can go on short relaxing trips like this one next year or in a few years time.

Sincerely, Loewe
