Farm Country Brewing: Dog-friendly brewery in Langley

As a dog mom, I always get excited when I find out a restaurant has a dog-friendly patio because this means I can bring Tofu 🐶! Albeit, he isn’t the most well-trained dog so sometimes it is better to just leave him at home but in this case, Tofu and I both had a great experience checking out this dog friendly brewery in Langley.
Farm Country Brewing is an award winning craft brewery in Langley! 🏅 They are recognized annually at the Canada Cup and BC Beer Awards and have a great list of fresh craft beer. We were invited to check out their new food menu and try some of their most popular craft beers.

The vibe

Farm Country Brewing is located inside a shopping plaza so there is a lot of parking, but there is no view (in the middle of the city with streets). When you walk in, you will notice a much bigger space for eating and drinking. They have a cool little merchandise corner and bar area where you can order and pay.
I also really like how they show all the big brewery tanks – it just gives it a nice industrial vibe and you know they brew their beer in-house.
There’s a lot of dining space and TVs, and they have fun events throughout the week and live music too. In the back, they also have an area with a cute mural and picnic tables you can rent out for private events.
Since we came with Tofu, we were seated in the patio where there is more limited seating (around 3 tables). We chose to sat in the shadiest area and it was bar-top seating, which isn’t my favourite because I am a little scared I will trip and fall of my chair since I’m kind of short.

Beer flight ($11)

At a brewery, you need to try the beers 🍻! With the recommendations of the staff, we ordered a beer flight to share and it came in such a cute little bucket.
The beer flight is $11 for 4 beers and the ones we chose were:
- German pilsner
- Pineapple radler
- Put me in Kolsch
- Mango passionfruit
My husband and I both prefer lighter and fruitier beers compared to dark or bitter beers.
Hands down, our favourite was the pineapple radler 🍍, which is their most popular beer this summer. I highly recommend you try if you like radler!
Coconut lime fish tacos ($13)

For food, the staff highly recommended the coconut lime fish tacos 🌮. I love fish tacos so I was excited.
One order comes with 2 tacos and the cod is breaded and fried with some slaw, coconut lime crema, cilantro and jalapenos. It tasted tangy and a little different from the other fish tacos I’ve had. I think this is due to the coconut lime crema, which gave it a sweet and sour taste.
Despite the daunting appearance of the jalapenos, it wasn’t too spicy for us.
Grand ole nachos ($12)

This is a big platter of nachos for $12! I highly recommend if you are sharing to get this because it’s so nice to chat, snack on, and sip beer with a giant plate of nachos.
The nachos come with triple cheese, beans, corn salsa, jalapenos, olives and lime crema, served with a medium salsa. I am not a big fan of olives but I liked all the other toppings on here.
Wings ($19)

I feel like a good classic pub needs to have some decent chicken wings 🍗. Here we ordered a half order of 2 flavours: honey garlic and salt and pepper. Their other flavours include BBQ, hotiyaki and more.
The wings here are actually quite good and juicy. Out of the 2 flavours, I liked the salt and peper more because it had that crunch, but the honey garlic was also good.
Mini churros ($10)

I usually don’t love churros because I don’t like cinnamon but omg these were so good 😍!!
They are mini churros which make it so easy and fun to eat because it is bite-sized ready. They are crispy and fried so well – big crunch! They are dusted in cinnamon sugar but had a very mild cinnamon flavour and they paired it with this indulgent caramel sauce which was like liquid gold.
If you have a sweet tooth, this is a great way to end your meal!
Final thoughts

Loewe’s rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We came to Farm Country Brewing to check out their beers but actually was pleasantly surprised with the new food menu.
The 4 beers we tasted in our flight was perfectly suited for our taste (cheers to the staff helping us decide). Again, if you love fruity beers, you need to get the pineapple radler and maybe the mango passionfruit (this one really tasted like juice).
For food, I liked the chicken wings and the mini churros the most. For value, the nachos and beer flight are my recommendations.
Tofu was surprisingly quiet on this patio so I guess it has Tofu’s approval!
This is a great spot to bring your pup if you are exploring Langley on a hot summer day and cool down with their great selection of beers.
Sincerely, Loewe
