Hearthstone Pizza: Korean-style pizza in Port Coquitlam
Hearthstone Pizza is a long-established restaurant located in Port Coquitlam/Coquitlam, offering Korean-style and classic pizzas and other Korean food and snacks like corn dogs and bakery items. They are also about to launch a liquor/late night menu this summer.
We were invited to taste their pizzas and as someone who grew up in the Tricities, I was excited to go 🤩.

The vibe
The interior of Hearthstone Pizza is pretty casual, with natural light and a TV that is playing Kpop music videos.
For a small restaurant, they can actually seat quite a few number of tables and there is also room for you to park your strollers so definitely kid and family friendly.
Behind the counter, you can see the actual pizza oven, which is pretty cool!
Food review
Disclaimer: Our entire meal was free but I have included the prices in this post. Prices are in CAD and rounded to the nearest dollar for simplicity. The owner chose all the items we got to try and they are all featured in this review.
No. 1 Signature ($33) – Premium Korean pizza
Hearthstone Pizza prides themselves in being the OG Korean pizza joint as they were serving up Korean pizzas long before Pizza Maru opened.
Their most popular Korean-style pizza is their No. 1 Signature and wow – it look super appetizing 😳! This pizza is pre-sliced into 16 pieces and it has a variety of toppings like pineapple, garlic shrimp, potato, sweet potato, pepperoni, and more. The crust is also stuffed with cheese for that cheesy last bite.
Regular price for this pizza is $29 but you can upgrade to the large size for an extra $4.
I felt this pizza was pretty tasty and my favourite toppings were the shrimp, pineapple and sweet potato. I also think this would be a great item to order for potlucks and parties 🥳.
Margherita ($17) – Classic pizza
If you’re not into Korean-style pizza, Hearthstone Pizza also has a selection of classic pizzas that are thin-crust.
I am a sucker for a good thin-crust margherita pizza and this one also came out looking super tasty. Presentation is on point and I love the crunch of the crust and the amount of cheese and tomatoes on each slice – really yummy and great price 👍!
K-corn dogs ($7-8 each)
Also on the menu are these giant corn dogs! In this photo, we have 2 of each kind – the potato corn dog and the half & half.
These corn dogs are legit the biggest ones I’ve seen so far 🤯 – big enough to share between 2 people.
The potato one is covered in cubes of potato and deep fried as part of the batter. I really liked the amount of sugar they sprinkled on top, which made it taste a little sweet and a little savoury. For sauce, I think ketchup tasted best with this one.
The half & half is half chicken sausage and half mozzarella cheese so when you take your first bite, you get that decadent cheese pull. For sauce, we chose the spicy mayo.
Both of these corn dogs were deliciously deep-fried and filling enough to be a whole lunch.
Bakery buns ($4 each)
You can also get housemade buns here! They are baked fresh every day and actually can sell out by late afternoon/evening time.
We got to try their mocha, milk + redbean, and their savoury wheel bun. All of them were pretty good – I liked the savoury cheese one the most and the mocha one would be great paired with some coffee or tea beverage.
Final thoughts
Loewe’s rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a very filling dinner at Hearthstone Pizza because the portion sizes here are huge. I came as a group of 4 adults and we couldn’t finish the 2 pizzas and 4 corn dogs.
Both of the pizzas we tried were delicious and looked great. I think the No. 1 Signature is a must order and you get to try a variety of toppings. The margherita pizza was also super yummy and one of the best margherita pizzas I’ve had in awhile. So all in all, I think their pizzas are definitely worth it 😄.
The corn dogs were also fried really well and a good deal – kids will love this.
The owner was really friendly and passionate about her restaurant and serving up healthier versions of pizza. She even mentioned to me that they can do custom baby pizzas (literally pizzas that babies can eat 😆), which I thought was so interesting and adorable.
If you’re looking for a fun pizza spot with your family, check out Hearthstone Pizza in Port Coquitlam!
Sincerely, Loewe
