Notime Mixology Bar: Cocktail bar in Fukuoka

I am really into cocktails and my husband and I both enjoy drinking πΈ. I saw a lot of social media videos of cool cocktail bars in Japan where stuff is on fire or they shave their ice in a special way.
During our honeymoon and our days in Fukuoka, we checked out this quiet tucked away cocktail bar called Notime Mixology Bar. We ordered two drinks and had a nice intimate wind-down to our first night in Fukuoka.

The vibe

The bar is located on the second floor of a quiet alley street and the vibe is quite industrial with a wooden bar as the highlight. There are a few tables for larger groups, but I recommend taking a seat at the bar if you want to see your drinks being made.
Our bartender was a chill guy who spoke English at a high proficiency. He was able to help us choose a drink based on our preferences and we talked about spots he liked to visit in Fukuoka.
The menu is quite cool and there’s a lot of story telling aspects to the menu for each drink. I noticed the cocktails are significantly cheaper than in Vancouver (average price is ~$12-14 CAD per cocktail and there’s no tip in Japan).
We were served a couple of small plates of nuts (complimentary).

Sunday morning cup ($15)

My husband decided on this drink based on his preferences: something strong and fruity.
The idea of this cocktail is that it is a drink you would want to drink in the morning π. When you open the lid, it is supposed to look like an acai bowl. The base is tequila soaked in aloe yogurt and the taste is a little dry but also fruity. If you mix the yogurt mousse floating on top, it becomes “easier to drink”.
We didn’t expect the cocktail to come in a cup/bowl like this (reminds us of the Chinese cups and bowls). Despite its non-cocktail appearance, it delivered! My husband felt there were notes of a stronger alcohol taste that is smoothly covered up by the fruity flavours of the yogurt and other ingredients.
Grape Alaska ($12)

I chose this cocktail based on my preference: something Instagram-worthy and fruity.
Since traveling in Japan, we have been lowkey obsessed with grapes π and melon π flavours. So this cocktail really enticed me! I loved the presentation of it.
The cocktail uses a generous amount of white grapes and has a combination of refreshing sweetness and mellow flavour, making it very easy to drink. I couldn’t believe this was only $12!
Chocolate dessert (free!)

We told our bartender we were here to celebrate our honeymoon and he surprised us with this chocolate dessert at the end – so thoughtful π₯°!
This dessert was quite a large portion and had a decadent chocolate taste without being too soft or melted. We appreciated his gesture to make our night a little more special.
Final thoughts
Loewe’s rating: βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ
We had a romantic and intimate time at Notime Mixology Bar and considered coming back to try more of their cocktails since they were so yummy and affordable (to us).
Out of the 2 cocktails, I preferred mine over my husband’s. But they have a large selection of whiskeys and other alcoholic beverages that have a stronger kick to them.
I recommend you to check out this bar if you are in Fukuoka!
Sincerely, Loewe
