Sweet Talk: Cute donut cafe in Port Moody

I am not a big coffee person because I am very sensitive to caffeine 💩, but I am starting to get into cute cafes and Sweet Talk in Port Moody caught my attention.
Located near Rocky Point, this is a cute little cafe known for its donuts 🍩! You will find their donut and brunch menu available daily from 8am – 1:30pm and from Thursdays – Saturdays starting at 6pm, Sweet Talk turns into a cozy little cocktail bar 🍸! Such a cute business model.
I came here with a girl friend for a light brunch meet-up and here was my experience.

The vibe

The space is very cute but also very small. The seating/dining area only seats about 15 people total and half of it is a communal table. If you are looking for a cafe where you can sit down and do work, this will not be the cafe for you. It is more for socializing and quicker conversations as you may feel bad sitting there for a long time. On sunny and warm days, they have a small patio outside but it is not covered or heated.
The interior has a lot of cool colours like a vibrant blue, butter yellow and a pretty display of donuts right when you walk in.
Food and drinks review
This is everything we shared between 2 adults. Prices are in CAD and rounded to the nearest dollar for simplicity.
Strawberry matcha ($6) + Latte ($6) + Donuts ($4 each)

Starting off strong with their drinks, I ordered a strawberry matcha and my friend got an iced latte. Both were quite good and I liked the strawberry syrup 🍓 with the matcha – sweet and refreshing.
For donuts, we got some of their most popular flavours 🍩 – the creme brulee and raspberry stuffie. I didn’t try the raspberry stuffy but my friend devoured it quickly and said it was really good.
The creme brulee had a nice hard glaze topping that cracked as I cut it with a knife just like the top of a real creme brulee. The texture of the donut was fluffy but I found it a little too sweet for me with the cream filling inside.
Bacon, egg, cheese sandwich combo ($16)

If you’re more of a savoury person like me, rejoice because Sweet Talk also has a small brunch menu featuring some really yummy breakfast sandwiches 🍔!
We shared the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. If you order it by itself, it is $11 but you can order it as a combo for $16 and it comes with a drink and a donut. So my friend’s donut + drink was part of this combo and I think it’s a good price and deal for brunch.
The sandwich itself was tasty with a fluffy and warm scrambled egg, crunchy bacon and a nice cheese pairing. It also came with some tater tots, which I loved because I love all potatoes 🥔.
Final thoughts

Loewe’s rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had a nice brunch and yap session at Sweet Talk with my best friend. The drinks were good, although I wish the cups were a bit bigger or cooler (they are kind of small). The donuts were good and I liked how they had savoury breakfast sandwiches as well.
I know this place is known for donuts and I think their donuts are really good, but I’m just not a donut kind of gal so I preferred the breakfast sandwich actually.
The vibe was nice and lots of natural sunlight, but it wasn’t the cleanest I think because so many people come in and out and sit for just a bit and leave. Some of the cushion seatings had some stains but other than that, tables were wiped by a staff before we sat down.
I would come back for their drinks or the breakfast sandwich if I am in the Port Moody area. I would also buy a box of donuts for potlucks or gifts.
Sincerely, Loewe
