Hell’s Kitchen: Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Las Vegas

I have been a fan of Gordon Ramsay for a long time 😍. I love watching Master Chef and Hells Kitchen, and even watched that documentary where he went to some prison and taught the inmates how to make lemon squares and they tried to market and sell these lemon squares in coffee shops around town.

However, I never felt like I could call myself a true fan of Gordon Ramsay because I have never actually eaten at any of his restaurants 😔. They recently opened a Gordon Ramsay burger spot in Coquitlam, but I’ve heard mixed reviews so I didn’t prioritize going yet (I still plan on going some time soon!).

Finally at my bachelorette trip to Vegas this spring, I ate at one of his most famous restaurants – Hell’s Kitchen!

I dined here on a Friday night and made an online reservation months in advance. We dined here as a group of 6 girls for dinner service.


The vibe

The Las Vegas location is located conveniently right outside Caesar’s. It has a fun signage outside with the logo and the pitchfork on fire.

After entering, there is a fun lobby/waiting area where they have a video of Gordon welcoming you on the wall. You can also see photos of previous winners framed and buy souvenir items like T-shirts, shot glasses, mugs and more.

As we were being seated, I got to see the restaurant is huge. It looked like it was only 1 floor but with very high ceilings and the restaurant was fully packed on the Friday night. We were seated at a round table comfortably but it was quite loud inside because there was a lot of people.

From our seat, you can’t really see the kitchen, but we saw it when we walked past. They really do have the red and blue kitchen split and open like at the filming location. Except of course, there is no crazy screaming and dropping of food on the floor.


Food and drinks review

Prices are listed in USD and rounded to the nearest dollar for simplicity.

Looking at the menu, I decided to order their Signature prix fixe menu priced at $106 for 3 courses. I shared this with a friend and added on one more appetizer to share together.

Lobster risotto ($34)

Almost all of us ordered or shared this lobster risotto because it sounded so good. You can order it as an appetizer or a main but I’m not sure if they give you more or if the price changes. The $34 is listed as an appetizer price.

This dish includes a butter poached lobster tail, crispy onions, and a truffle risotto as base. The size of it is not super big by any means, but it was surprisingly filling. They also use a pretty decent sized lobster tail (I’ve seen restaurants use tiny ones). It had a really strong truffle flavour too, which we really enjoyed.

Our server was really nice and was actually able to “accidentally” order a second risotto for us (we never asked him to!! Maybe he saw we were sharing everything and felt pity for us 😅).

Pan seared scallops ($31 or an option for prix fixe)

I had told myself I wouldn’t get the pan seared scallops that I saw on TV because I know they literally give you like 3 scallops, but the only 2 choices on the signature prix fixe menu were the pan-seared scallops or a tomato salad so you know I chose the scallops in the end 🙃.

I am glad I did 🤯!

I actually ended up enjoying the scallops a lot more than I thought I would. The scallops were huge and had a delicate sweet flavour to it. I really liked the English pea puree also – very smooth. They added on bits of bacon lardons, some fennel and a chicken jus that made the dish more savoury.

Beef wellington ($74 or part of prix fixe)

The beef wellington is one of Gordon Ramsay’s most famous dishes and I had to try it from Hells Kitchen!

A beef wellington is a fillet steak that is coated with some pâté and duxelles (mushrooms), then wrapped in puff pastry before being baked. It is a pretty difficult dish to make and I was pretty excited to try it even though I don’t love steak (I prefer seafood).

Hell’s Kitchen beef wellington also comes with potato puree, glazed root vegetables and a red wine demi-glace.

Upon first glance, it doesn’t look humongous portions, but once we started eating, I knew I would be super full from just eating half of a wellington. There’s quite a bit of meat packed in there. Overall, I thought it tasted good but maybe I overhyped it in my head. I found some parts of the meat to be not as juicy as I hoped. For an almost $100 CAD entrée, I don’t think I would order it again.

Sticky toffee pudding ($16 or part of prix fixe)

And for the third and final course of the prix fixe menu, I finally got to try Gordon’s famous sticky toffee pudding!

It arrived as a huge sticky toffee pudding… like this plate was literally enough for 6 girls to share 😂. All the girls really liked this dessert even though we were worried it would be “too sweet” for our little Asian taste palettes. The cake was fluffy and moist and the cold ice cream gave a great contrast to the warm pudding and the caramel sauce!


Final thoughts

We had a really awesome dinner at Hell’s Kitchen and I am so glad we went and I can cross it off my Las Vegas bucket list. In total after tax and tip, I spent around $178 USD/$247 CAD for my 3 course prix fixe menu + the lobster risotto that I shared with a friend, so it came out to around $124 CAD per person.

Value wise, the 3 dishes I chose for the signature prix fixe menu was $30.95 scallops + $73.95 beef wellington + $15.95 sticky toffee pudding = $120.85, so choosing the prix fixe menu did save me around $15 USD 👍. I think if you are set on ordering the beef wellington as your main and the sticky toffee pudding as your dessert, then you should definitely get the prix fixe because the second and third course are set (there are no other options).

I feel like the Vegas strip has a lot of restaurant and food options that are more expensive, but I was happy to spend this amount at Hell’s Kitchen and didn’t think it was too crazy (but I am a fan and I do see all of this as part of the experience).

Service was excellent 🤩. We told our server we needed to leave by a certain time, and he re-assured us the food will be quick and it was. The menu also stated no sharing of food but he re-assured us that it’s fine to share. He even got us that extra order of lobster risotto for us although we never asked him to do anything of that sort. We were actually really full and struggled to finish that extra lobster risotto!

Our server also told us that because we are celebrating my bachelorette, they usually give the sticky toffee pudding dessert for free but since I had already ordered it as part of my signature prix fixe menu, they will gift us a round of champagne instead, which I thought was really sweet. They offered an alternative choice of a second sticky toffee pudding dessert, but again we were too full in our clubbing dresses to eat 2 puddings 🤰🏻.

Food was overall good. Most of us ordered the same dishes (lobster risotto, beef wellington, crispy salmon), and everyone liked their dishes. Everybody’s favourites were the lobster risotto and the sticky toffee pudding! But I would say still try the beef wellington for yourself to try if it’s your first time.

I would come again with my partner (he also likes Gordon), and I recommend you to check it out if you are curious/do not have strong feelings about Gordon Ramsay since the food was actually pretty good and service was excellent.
