Langley Vietnamese Cuisine: Best Vietnamese food in Langley
Vancouver and the Lower Mainland is known to have a lot of different authentic foods and I think Vietnamese food is really up there. So many times did my friends and I go to late night Vietnamese restaurants for some drunk cravings, or the next hangover day when we need some pho soup in our tummies 😮💨.
Over the years, I have been really enjoying Vietnamese food and in this blog post I will be reviewing the top Vietnamese restaurant in Langley: Langley Vietnamese Cuisine.

The vibe
I came here for lunch on a rainy day with 3 friends. There was a bit of a wait but it wasn’t very long. The wait was a good indicator of how popular this place is, though!
The interior gave me a mixture of both casual and formal vibes. They had white tablecloths and glass tops with art on the wall, but at the same time it was bustling with energy. There was a lot of people inside – every table was filled.

Prices are in CAD and rounded to the nearest dollar for simplicity.
Spring rolls ($12)

I don’t know how we added just 3 spring rolls as I don’t see it on their menu, but I guess you can just add them as a side to your main order. In their appetizer section, they have 4 spring rolls + a salad for $12 so I’ll just quote $12 here.
My mom said you can judge a Vietnamese restaurant by their spring rolls. If their spring rolls are no good, everything is no good.
The spring rolls were pretty good to me – basically they met my expectations but didn’t blow me away. I think the best Viet spring rolls are still from Viet Noodle Guy in Burnaby.
Deep fried wontons ($11)

We also shared these deep-fried wontons that come with a sweet & sour sauce. I quite liked these as they were fried well and crispy, and the tangy sauce was a good pairing. Again, nothing extraordinary, but yummy!
Grilled pork & spring rolls on vermicelli ($15)

My friend ordered this vermicelli bowl and my eyes widened at how big the portions are 😳! For $15, this is a lot of food and good value! It came with a huge pork skewer, a full salad roll and another spring roll.
The pork was smoky, tender and delicious. I really liked how they had both the salad roll and the spring roll as most vermicelli bowls will only give you one (deep fried one).
Beef stew ($15)

One of my favourite Vietnamese dishes is the beef stew but not every place has it and not every place does it well, in my opinion.
The beef stew from Langley Vietnamese Cuisine was actually a miss for me 😞. It took a long time to come (which is fine), but the portion was a little smaller than what I expected (especially after I saw the vermicelli bowl). The texture of the soup was a bit more thick and jelly-like than what I am used to at other restaurants. There were also a couple pieces of beef that were not that tender, and the carrots could have also been cooked longer for it to be softer.
Rare steak and beef balls ($14-15)

My husband orders the pho noodle soup and there are a couple of options based on what meat and toppings you want. He chose the rare beef and beef balls. The small is $14 and the large is $15.
He liked the broth and found it flavourful. Portion for a large had quite a bit of noodles and this was very filling.
Final thoughts
Loewe’s rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a good lunch at Langley Vietnamese Cuisine. Overall, portions were generous and prices were reasonable.
Quality wise, everything was good and met our expectations, but I wouldn’t say this spot was exponentially better than other casual Vietnamese and pho restaurants I’ve eaten at. Maybe it’s the best in Langley, but compared to the many other Vietnamese spots across the Lower Mainland, it hovers around the decent/average category for me.
Sincerely, Loewe
