Naughty Nuri’s Warung: Best pork ribs in Seminyak

Naughty Nuri’s Warung is a popular restaurant/pub chain that me and 3 other friends checked out during our trip to Bali in April. We visited their location in Seminyak and was able to get a table pretty easily around 6pm (more of a wait after 7pm).

Interior

A warung is a type of small family-owned business — a small retail, eatery or café — in Indonesia. While Naughty Nuri’s was not really a small business anymore, it was certainly lively.

The restaurant was quite large and can seat lots of people – from big groups to individual bar seating. The restaurant itself has kind of an indoor-outdoor structure so there aren’t really any walls or buildings/doors you enter through since it’s all kind of like a giant patio. Since we came here for dinner, it wasn’t that hot but I can imagine it being quite hot if you come here to eat in the afternoon.

Food and drinks review

Here are a few things we ordered to share with 4 people. Please note that all prices have been converted from IDR to CAD and then rounded up to the nearest dollar.

Mango splash ($6-9)

The rest of my friends order 1L beers for $20 but since I can’t drink beer because of my psoriasis, I opt for a cocktail instead. I chose 2oz so it was $9, but if you just want 1oz it’s only $6 😳 * cries while thinking of Vancouver cocktail prices *.

Literally look at the size of this drink! Such a good deal and it was strong too.

Signature pork spare ribs ($18)

This is the most popular item at Naughty Nuri’s – the pork spare ribs, coming in at 600g in weight. This photo was taken after we cut it up, but man these pork spare ribs were super tender, seasoned really well with the sauce and was just super yummy! Definitely a must-get and for $18 it’s super cheap.

Pork belly satay ($11) + chicken satay ($6)

We order 2 plates of satay skewers to share. The pork belly skewers come with 8 skewers and 300g of pork belly. It was a little on the fatty side, which made it very juicy and flavourful with the sauce. I think I preferred it over the chicken satay.

The chicken satay also had 8 skewers and is seasoned with herbs. I just found the pork belly to taste better and in comparison to the pork belly fat, the chicken meat felt more dry.

Sauce was a little spicy for me!

Crazy corn ($5)

I am into corn street foods, so I ordered this crazy corn. They cut it up to look like ribs and cover them with cheese and a “secret sauce”. The secret sauce probably contains truffle because I tasted a little bit of that, but the corn was a tasty snack even though the hard part of it is still attached so you can’t eat the entire thing.

Final thoughts

Loewe’s rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Aside from the above items, we also ordered the truffle fries ($5) and mac and cheese ($6) to snack on after. Both were good but since they are sides, they are a smaller portion. I didn’t bother with taking photos because I just wanted to relax with my friends after a long flight from Vancouver. And also my hands were dirty after eating the saucy pork ribs and crazy corn 😅.

Naughty Nuri’s food was delicious and none of us got diarrhea after 🥳! Drinks were cheap and strong, which is just the way I like it lol. We really liked the vibe as it was casual and a very fun atmosphere – we saw servers singing and dancing for someone’s birthday. They will also make announcements when things are running out, like their giant pork hocks. Service was good and they can speak English well so you don’t have to worry. Highly recommend for you to check out Naughty Nuri if you are in Bali.

Sincerely, Loewe
